THE ARAMAIC LORD’S PRAYER
Wednesday January 1, 2025 from 1-4PM
at First Unitarian Church, 220 S. Winton Rd, Rochester 14610
Please gather with us on the first day of the new year as we explore the words of the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic - the language that Jesus (Yeshua) spoke. The translations directly from Aramaic into English offer a deeper, broader, mystical experience of the prayer which many know as the 'Our Father'.
The Aramaic language speaks of radiance and vibration. It suggests that all things consist of light, all things being parts of the Creator. As light radiates from a point outwards, so does the cosmic — from infinite points.
Each line of the prayer will be explored, along with melody and movement. Finally, the full prayer will be experienced as a Dance, for a whole-body immersion in the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus).
This work is based on the extensive research and experience of Neil Douglas-Klotz, author of “Prayers of the Cosmos”, and the more recent “Revelations of the Aramaic Jesus”.
Led by Jim Inayat Leff, with musical support from the Spheres (Jim, Rick Hoyt and Mirabai Marquardt) and friends.
Your generous donations are gratefully accepted, and enable us to continue offering Dances of Universal Peace.
Registration begins at 12:30 pm. Program begins promptly at 1:00.
